Fairfax Ice Arena is proud to be the home ice rink of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia (SCNV). Founded in 1975, SCNV is a member club of U.S. Figure Skating, the governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States. Freestyle sessions are held Mondays–Fridays for figure skaters in Beta level and higher. View the schedule and register for freestyle sessions. Each freestyle session is assigned a level and a credit amount. You must purchase credits to book a freestyle session.

Any weather-related closures or program cancellations for Fairfax Ice Arena will be posted on the homepage of our website and on social media. Fairfax Ice Arena does not follow Fairfax County Public School closures. We encourage our customers to plan accordingly and please be safe.
Are you looking to train with our coaches at Fairfax Ice Arena? Credentialed through Professional Skaters Association, United States Figure Skating and Safe Sport, our coaches combine advanced techniques with a passion for teaching to advance their students in mastering the skills needed to achieve their personal goals in figure skating. Our coaches have experience in training skaters who have competed in regionals, collegiate, nationals, international competitions, Worlds and the Olympics. To schedule your first private lesson with our instructors, please submit a private lesson request form. We will follow up with you in two weeks (minimum).
We provide first-rate coaching, competitive figure skating programs, level-specific freestyle sessions Monday-Friday, high performance specialty sessions focusing on stroking, jumps and spins, off-ice conditioning, and additional training tools to aid figure skaters in their development.
Located in Fairfax, Virginia, we are minutes from Washington, DC, the Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Reagan National Airport (DCA). Our skaters have benefitted in training with national and international guest coaches and alongside competitive skaters who train here with our coaches.

Payment must be made online in advance before the skater goes on the ice. Fairfax Ice Arena monitors the sessions to ensure that the skaters on the session are registered and are following etiquette. Skaters who go on the ice during a session and are not registered will be charged the session rate and an additional service fee of 3 credits for the violation. Fairfax Ice Arena reserves the right to ask skaters who are on the ice and are not registered for the session to leave the session and charge them the additional fee of 3 credits for the violation.
Skaters must cancel at least 30 minutes before the session start time or lose their credits.
Payment of the session does not include the price of a private lesson. All payments for private lessons must go through our payment system.

40 minute session = 5 credits

The following are the credit packages and session credit rates for the 2021 - 2022 season.
Levels are defined as what level you will be competing in the upcoming season. Instructor approval is required.
Specialty sessions are specified freestyle sessions for jumps, stroking, spins and footwork. These sessions may be taught by coaches who have expertise in these areas. Each session will offer a unique opportunity for skaters of all levels to focus on improving their technical skills.
