
Freestyle sessions are the designated times for figure skaters to train and practice. We offer level-specific freestyle sessions Monday–Friday, and specialty sessions focusing on edge work. Visit the lesson office to see if freestyle sessions are right for your training.

Each freestyle session is assigned a session credit rate as the admission to that particular session. You can either purchase the number of credits you need to skate a session, or purchase a credit package. You must purchase credits first and then register for freestyle sessions.
Credit packages expire one year from date of purchase unless indicated. Credit packages are subject to change.

Session credit rates is the cost of credits for a freestyle session per person. Session credit rates are subject to change.

Freestyle session levels are defined as the level that a skater will be competing in during the upcoming season. Instructor approval is required. If you do not have an instructor, please see the lesson office.
The Levels for freestyle sessions are:

Are you looking to train with our coaches at Fairfax Ice Arena? Credentialed through U.S. Figure Skating and SafeSport, our coaches combine advanced techniques with a passion for teaching to help students master the skills needed to achieve their goals in figure skating.
Our coaches have trained skaters who have successfully competed in sectional, collegiate, national, international competitions, Worlds and the Olympics.
Our coaches have successfully competed in sectional, collegiate, national, international competitions, World Championships, and the Olympics. They have also gone on to work in professional ice show productions around the world.
Our skaters have gone on to become competitive figure skaters, work for national and international ice show production companies, and become competitive figure skating coaches and choreographers.
Visiting coaches are welcome to request coaching during a freestyle session at Fairfax Ice Arena. Please submit a request before your visit. Visiting coach requests are subject to approval by Fairfax Ice Arena.
It is your responsibility to register and check-in for a freestyle session BEFORE the session begins. If a skater is on the ice and is not registered for the session, their account will be charged a service charge of 3 credits.
It is also your responsibility to cancel a session that you have registered for but will not attend. You are able to cancel a freestyle session up to 30 minutes before the start time of the session without penalty.
Always exercise caution during freestyle sessions and follow freestyle etiquette.
Fairfax Ice Arena staff monitors the freestyle sessions to ensure that the skaters on the session are registered and are following etiquette.
Registered freestyle session skaters must check-in with the staff who is monitoring the session before going on the ice. Fairfax Ice Arena reserves the right to ask a skater to step off the ice during the session, interrupt a skater during the session and during their private lesson to check-in.
Payment of the freestyle session does not include the price of a private lesson. All payments for private lessons must go through the Fairfax Ice Arena payment system online.
