The rink continues to be home to first-rate coaches and competitive skaters, including Olympians, and World and U.S. Champions.

Fairfax Ice Arena is also proud to be the home ice rink of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia, and the adult Fairfax Hockey League both formed in 1975 by Fairfax Ice Arena founder, Eileen Weisiger.

Fairfax Ice Arena opened its doors on March 17, 1973. ​​​For nearly 50 years, Fairfax Ice Arena has offered year-round indoor recreational ice skating and competitive figure skating programs, adult ice hockey programs, ice rink rental for organization events and film/media use, ice skating parties, a Pro Shop and a cafe.

  • Now Hiring - Figure Skating Coaches
    ​Fairfax Ice Arena is hiring figure skating coaches. This is a great opportunity for you to join our coaching staff of World, National, and recreational level coaches. 

    We have been in business for nearly 50 years, with a very active group lesson program all year-round, and an established competitive program developing Olympic, National, Sectional, and Regional figure skaters. Fairfax Ice Arena is open year round and offers group lessons, camps, ice show, annual I.S.I. competition, freestyle sessions, recreational skating and competitive figure skating.

    The ice arena is located only 12 miles from Washington D.C., in Fairfax County, the third wealthiest county in the United States.

    Coaches will be guaranteed a salary based on experience for the first year. The salary range is $55,000 to $90,000 based on experience. In addition, Fairfax Ice Arena will pay a relocation fee and 2 months of free rent.

​Fairfax Ice Arena is the first indoor ice skating rink facility in Virginia, in the South and in the Washington, DC area. It was founded by Eileen Weisiger (pictured on the right and below). She was a successful business woman, serial entrepreneur, fashion designer, artist, model, and mother of five children. Weisiger was instrumental in bringing recreational ice skating, and developing competitive figure skating and ice hockey programs and athletes in the region.
