​Fairfax Ice Arena is the first indoor ice skating rink facility in Virginia, in the South and in the  Washington, DC area. It was founded by Eileen Weisiger (pictured on the right and below). Weisiger was a successful serial entrepreneur, fashion designer, artist, model, and mother of five children. She was instrumental in bringing recreational ice skating, and developing figure skating and ice hockey programs and athletes in the region.

Fairfax Ice Arena opened its doors on March 17, 1973. ​​​For nearly 50 years, Fairfax Ice Arena has offered year-round indoor recreational ice skating and competitive figure skating programs, ice rink rental for organization events and film/media use, ice skating parties, a Pro Shop and a cafe. 

The rink continues to be home to first-rate coaches and competitive skaters, including Olympians, and World and U.S. Champions.

Fairfax Ice Arena is also proud to be the home ice rink of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia, and the adult Fairfax Hockey League both formed in 1975 by Fairfax Ice Arena founder, Eileen Weisiger.
