About

Fairfax Ice Arena is the first indoor ice skating rink facility in the northern Virginia/Washington, DC metropolitan area. It was founded by Eileen Weisiger, a successful serial entrepreneur, fashion designer, artist, model, and mother of five children. She was instrumental to bringing recreational ice skating, and developing figure skating and ice hockey programs and athletes to the region. Fairfax Ice Arena opened its doors on March 17, 1973.

For nearly 50 years, Fairfax Ice Arena has offered year-round recreational ice skating and competitive figure skating programs, ice rink rental to area organizations and for film/media use, ice skating parties, a Pro Shop and an arena cafe. The rink continues to be home to first-rate coaching, and Olympic, national, sectional and regional figure skaters. Fairfax Ice Arena is also proud to be the home ice rink for the Skating Club of Northern Virginia (SCNV), formed in 1975 by Fairfax Ice Arena founder, Eileen Weisiger.
