Updated Face Covering Policy Effective July 1, 2021

  • Wearing a face covering at the Fairfax Ice Arena will be optional for fully vaccinated people.

  • We require wearing a face covering on and off the ice if you have not been fully vaccinated.

  • Face coverings on and off the ice are still required for our unvaccinated guests under 12.

Hockey Clinic Begins in September.

September 12–October 24: $190

Register today for the hockey clinic for kids, teens and adults. Students will learn various skills including footwork, stick handling, and gameplay situations. Students must be able to complete all skills from skating levels ​Tot 1/2 / Prealpha through Beta. We recommend registering 2-3 weeks before class starting date. ​

Fairfax Ice Arena is open for public ice skating, freestyle sessions, group lessons and hockey.


The following are preventative measures we are taking and are requiring of our patrons:

  • Walk-ins are now available for our public ice skating sessions. Customers can also continue to make online reservations. Group Lesson students who do not have a physical practice card must continue to register for public sessions online.​ 

  • Effective July 1, 2021, wearing a face covering at the Fairfax Ice Arena is optional for fully vaccinated people. Wearing a face covering on and off the ice is required if you have not been fully vaccinated. Face covering on and off the ice is required for our unvaccinated guests under 12.

  • Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before you skate and leave no later than 15 minutes after you skate

  • To minimize crowds inside the facility, we encourage patrons who are waiting on their skaters to limit their time inside the facility by staying in their vehicles while their skater is participating in our public skating and freestyle sessions, group lessons, camp or off-ice training.

  • As recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, PLEASE STAY HOME if you are feeling ill in any way.

Measures we are taking:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces like door handles, tables and computers.

  • Ensuring hand soap and hand sanitizers are readily available and filled. ​Hand sanitizing stations are available at the arena entrance, and at the skate rental counter.

  • Placing signage reminding everyone to frequently and thoroughly wash their hands and social distance.​

New Group Lessons Begin in September.

Fairfax Ice Arena offers year-round group ice skating lessons for adults, teens and children who are beginner to advanced levels. New to ice skating? Beginner levels are called
Tot 1/2 for ages 4-6 years old and Prealpha for ages 7-13 and 14 and up. Beginner level is recommended for those who have had little to no prior ice skating instruction, and skating experience.​ We recommend registering 2-3 weeks before class starting date.
