NEARLY 50 YEARS OF SKATING

Established in 1973, Fairfax Ice Arena is the first year-round ice rink in the Washington metropolitan area.

Fairfax Ice Arena's Response to COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, recommendations outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Virginia Governor's executive order (53) and increased concerns reported in the news, Fairfax Ice Arena is forced to postpone or cancel events and programs, and is taking the following measures to ensure the well-being of our staff, coaches and valued guests. Please check back here for updates as we continue to monitor the situation.

CANCELLED

  • Public sessions are cancelled from March 17–April 23. 
    Public sessions will tentatively resume on April 24.
  • Fairfax Hockey League games are cancelled from March 18–April 23.
  • Pick-up Hockey is cancelled from March 18–April 23.
  • Spring Break Skating Camp is cancelled.


TEMPORARY PRO SHOP HOURS

  • 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Weekdays
    10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Saturday
    10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Sunday


PREVENTATIVE MEASURES

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting surfaces like door handles, tables and computers.
  • Ensuring hand soap is readily available and filled.
  • Placing signage reminding everyone to frequently and thoroughly wash their hands.

POSTPONED

  • Group lessons are postponed.
    Effective March 16–April 23, there will be no group lessons.
    Group lessons will be rescheduled to end at a later date so you do not lose any class time. Group Lessons will tentatively resume on April 25. 

  • Hockey clinic is postponed. 
    Effective March 22–April 23, there will be no hockey clinic. Classes will be rescheduled to end at a later date so you do not lose any class time. Hockey clinic will tentatively resume April 26.

  • For those currently taking private lessons, schedule changes are between you and your coach. 


As recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if you are feeling ill, please stay home.
